Defender Sergio Ramos is taking a significant step towards acquiring Sevilla amidst the club's turbulent period.

Ramos is determined to take over his former club.

According to AS , the former Real Madrid captain held a lengthy meeting with Sevilla's largest shareholders, including the Carrion family, Ales, and Castro, at a hotel in Seville. The meeting was seen as a crucial step in negotiations for the transfer of ownership of the club.

Canal Sur Radio reported that Ramos is collaborating with the investment fund Five Eleven Capital to facilitate the deal. The investor's representative, Argentinian businessman Martin Ink, was also present at the meeting. In addition, lawyer Julio Senn and several members of Ramos's family participated in the discussions.

The parties are reportedly looking to reach an agreement in May, before the exclusive negotiating period between Ramos's group and Five Eleven Capital expires. If the deal is not completed by then, Sevilla could receive further takeover bids from various interested investors.

Previously, AS reported that Ramos's investment group had confirmed they had prepared the necessary funds, with the total value of the deal expected to range from 300 to 450 million euros.

According to Radio Marca Sevilla , Ramos wants to play a significant role in rebuilding his hometown team, not only on the pitch but also at the management level. After many hours of work, the Spanish central defender and his brother Rene left the hotel looking quite tense, but those involved remain optimistic about the possibility of the deal being completed soon.

Information about Ramos wanting to take over Sevilla emerged almost simultaneously with Monchi officially accepting the position of Sporting Director at Espanyol. Previously, Monchi had been linked with Ramos's new project at Sevilla, but the two sides reportedly failed to reach an agreement.

Sevilla is going through one of its most difficult periods in years. The team is still fighting to avoid relegation in La Liga with only three rounds remaining. Financial and managerial instability is believed to be the reason why the club's leadership is considering a power transfer.
