TEMPO.CO, Jakarta "The Devil Wears Prada 2" star Anne Hathaway (43) attended the 2026 Met Gala wearing a black-and-white Michael Kors gown featuring a hand-painted image by artist Peter McGough.

According to People on Monday, May 4th, 2026, the front of the actress's black gown featured a hand reaching out to a dove, and the back was decorated with a painting of the Goddess of Peace.

In an interview with Vogue at the 2026 Met Gala, Anne Hathaway said she had just finished the promotional tour for "The Devil Wears Prada 2" and could only take a short nap to attend the Met Gala.

"I'm sure some people don't love the reason they're tired, I'm really into the reason that I'm tired," she said.

"It's not gonna be this forever, so I don't wanna miss it," she added.

Vogue set the 2026 Met Gala fashion theme as "Fashion Is Art," in line with the theme of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's spring 2026 exhibition, "Costume Art."

The announcement came about two months after the 2026 Met Gala co-chairs were announced, which included Beyonce, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour.

Anne Hathaway has also previously worn iconic outfits at the spring fashion event.

She first attended the Met Gala in 2010 in a sparkling champagne gown, and five years later captivated the audience with a long, flowing gold veil at the Met Gala.

In 2023, she wowed the crowd in a Versace gown with multiple slits held together by gold pearl-embellished pins.

Last year, the mother of two wore a Carolina Herrera ensemble featuring a crisp white shirt, striped column skirt, and a large gemstone necklace to the Met Gala.
